Use Imagination As The Engine & Willpower As Fuel

“When the imagination and will power are in conflict, are antagonistic, it is always the imagination which wins, without any exception.” – Emile Coue

Imagination and willpower are two fundamental aspects of the mind that shape our lives.  Imagination is a process that enables us create new ideas and reinforce existing ideas.  Willpower is the potential energy to turn those ideas into reality. This article considers imagination and willpower, and how the subconscious mind can work with the imagination to improve outcomes through hypnosis.

Imagination: The Creative Process

Imagination is an essential component of human creativity and innovation.  It enables us to think beyond the constraints of the present moment.  Imagination is the conscious process of exploring alternatives, engaging in problem-solving and creating new ideas.

Willpower: The Fuel

Willpower is the fuel, the motivation and energy, to maintain the discipline needed to complete tasks or refrain from distractions.  An analogy might be imagination is the vehicle and will power is the fuel.

The Subconscious Mind and Imagination

The Subconscious Mind exists in its own place, shaping our habits and automatic responses.  The subconscious mind can also provides the components of memory, and ideas, for the imagination to work with.

The subconscious mind also does not distinguish between real and imagined experiences. The images created by our imagination can have an impact on our subconscious mind, influencing our thoughts, feelings, and actions as if they were real.

Hypnosis and the Subconscious Mind

Hypnosis can allow for easier communication with the subconscious mind.  This relaxed focused state can help enhance positive objectives and revise negative habits.  By repeatedly visualizing preferred outcomes in a relaxed state, the subconscious mind can recognize these objectives as the preferred future process.  This can make it easier for the individual to take the necessary actions to achieve their objective.

Conclusion

Imagination and willpower are distinct yet interconnected.  Using both, with the subconscious mind and hypnosis, can assist in creating new processes or revising unwanted habits.
