Autosuggestion: Create A Positive “Autopilot”

Autosuggestion is a method to influence mental and physical states. It involves suggestions, where repetitive positive statements could revise thoughts, feelings, and actions.

The Autosuggestion technique is fairly simple:

  • Repeat specific ideas or affirmations.
  • Consistently reinforce these ideas over time.
  • Actively direct physical states: Put emotional energy into the idea.

Techniques for Autosuggestions:

  • Identify What You Want to Revise: Determine the desired outcome.
  • Choose specific, challenging yet realistic goals.
  • Make It Believable:  Ensure your suggestion feels right to you.  Use the phrase “I choose to.”
  • Invoke Emotions: Emotional engagement enhances the effectiveness of autosuggestion. Connect your affirmations to meaningful feelings.
  • Use First-Person Language: Autosuggestions are personal—focus on your transformation.
  • Avoid creating them based on external expectations.
  • Stay Positive:  Pair autosuggestions with positive thinking.  Avoid negativity and use affirmative language.

  • Stress Reduction: Autosuggestion can help manage stress.  We create a calmer mindset by reinforcing positive beliefs.
  • Improved Self-Confidence: Regular autosuggestions boost self-esteem and confidence. We internalize empowering statements about our abilities.
